Short Story Winners

Linden Tree was pleased once again to support the love of writing and reading by co-sponsoring the Palo Alto Online annual Short Story contest.

The youth and adult winners were presented with their prizes and congratulated at a reception on Tuesday, February 28th. Tom represented Linden Tree to give the Youth Ages 9-11 winners their store gift certificates.

The winners were:

  • First Place: Nicole Knauer “Nico” – $100
  • Second Place: Emma Miller “A Tale of a Tail” – $75
  • Third Place: Nisha McNealis “Lightning Strikes” – $50

Linden Tree congratulates all of the participants and urges you to try your hand in next year’s contest!

Sweet First Friday…

Thank you to all of you who came out to support this month’s Los Altos First Friday!

Not only was the Valentine card table a huge success, Linden Tree was thrilled to be the hosts for the performance by the Matsiko World Orphans Choir.

The choir included twenty children from Liberia, Peru and India and told the stories of the lives and cultures of children in third world countries through song and dance.

It was exciting to be the gathering spot for such a festive and moving community celebration and we look forward to more downtown events in the future. We truly appreciate the hard work of Los Altos Forward to continue to encourage residents to frequent downtown businesses!
