Twelve-year-old Kate is laser-focused on her one true passion: horseback riding. But try as she might, she can't hide from life's problems in the stable.

There's nothing Kate loves more than being around horses. It’s too bad her BFF is allergic to them—Kate could really use a friend by her side. The mean girls she takes riding lessons with love to point out her shortcomings, especially when she falls off her horse—which happens a lot! And if her troubles at the stable weren't enough, Kate has to deal with body insecurities, boy problems, and her annoying older brother. Can she get over it all . . . and get back on her horse?

About the Author

Kristin Varner grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Utah, where she fell in love with horses at a young age. Kristin received her degree in illustration from Rhode Island School of Design and has created art for children’s books, magazines, games, apparel, and toys. Horse Trouble is her debut title as an author and graphic novelist. She lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband and daughter and she's still a little crazy about horses.
