About the Author

Jennifer Torres is the author of Stef Soto, Taco Queen and works at the University of the Pacific, where she leads a countywide campaign to promote early literacy. Before joining Pacific, Jennifer worked as a reporter for The Record newspaper, covering education, children, and families, and she continues to write for local and national magazines.Vanessa Flores studied at Seminole Community College and graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BFA in Art, specializing in graphic design. Vanessa is the illustrator of Project Startup #1 (Eat Bugs), a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and an Orlando Giant Illustrator.
