How it works
- RSVP: Register to compete or cheer.
- READ: Finish the five books in your age group (see below!)
- PLAY: show off your knowledge on Aug 16 with pizza, prizes, and bragging rights!
The Books
The books were handpicked by our expert booksellers to cover a variety of genres, from fantasy to historical fiction to graphic novels. The list includes old favorites and recently released award winners, as well as books written by our local authors!
Elementary (ages 7–10)

- Who can come to this event?
Everyone! Whether you are an auntie, a sibiling, or a reader, this event is for YOU. Come cheer on a love of reading!
- Do I need to read all five books to compete?
Yes! Trivia questions cover every title.
- Can I use my own copies of the books?
Absolutely!
- Can I listen to audiobooks?
Absolutely! We have even provided you with Libro.fm links above.
- How does the trivia competition work?
We’ll assign small teams on event day (tell us at registration if you’d like to team up with a friend). Teams will tackle Jeopardy-style questions, a round of charades, and a special surprise finale question.
- How big are the teams? Depending on number of participants, anywhere from 2–5 players per team. If you have a friend in mine, you can add their name during registration.
- What goodies do competitors get?
Bookish swag, pizza, and prizes like an ice cream date with a local author, Linden Tree Books gift cards, and more!
- What if I registered but can’t come?
