About the Author

Lavanya Sunkara is an award-winning writer, animal enthusiast, and responsible traveler based in New York City. Her love of nature and adventure has taken her all over the globe, from Alaska to Zanzibar. She’s traveled within six continents, lived in three time zones, speaks two languages, and is fervent about living a life of purpose. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, National Geographic, Travel + Leisure, USA Today, Fodor’s, Forbes, Architectural Digest and Business insider, among many others in a career spanning more than a decade. Nicholas John Frith is an artist, illustrator, and picture book author who lives and works on the coast of Dorset, England. The majority of his work appears in the form of illustrated book jackets, greetings cards, and books for children, but he also works across commercial and editorial projects. His debut picture book, Hector and Hummingbird, was the recipient of the inaugural Klaus Flugge Prize and was also short-listed for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize.
