About the Author

KATRINA PHILLIPS is from the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, and she was born and raised in northern Wisconsin, along the south shore of Lake Superior. She grew up reading just about every book she could find, so it makes sense that she earned a BA and a PhD in history from the University of Minnesota. She’s a history professor at Macalester College and has written numerous children’s books, including Indigenous Peoples’ Day and I Am on Indigenous Land. She lives in the Twin Cities with her husband, their two boys, and their two dogs. Her favorite food is chocolate.
