My Magic Dress, printed in bright, whimsical spot colors, is one of Japan’s most famous and best-loved picture books.

A rabbit sits at her sewing machine to make a dress out of a white cloth that fell from the sky. Pleased with her handiwork, she sings happily as she strolls through a field of flowers – tra-la-la, tra-la-li… when suddenly her dress is no longer white, but patterned with bright pink flowers!

Every change of scenery miraculously transforms the rabbit’s dress, and she watches in amazement as its design becomes dotted with raindrops, stalks of wheat, and even stars. When a flock of birds is attracted to the wheat seeds patterning the dress, the rabbit takes flight into the evening sky… wearing a dress printed with the birds themselves!

My Magic Dress has sold over 3 million copies worldwide.
