A streetwise alley cat scores with a purr-fect Pied Piper until he hits a village where a mysterious evil lurks beneath the streets in this brilliant standalone Discworld fantasy from New York Times bestselling author Sir Terry Pratchett. Winner of the Carnegie Medal!“Hilarious, moving, scary, impishly vulgar, and wickedly wise.” —Locus

In a strange and magical place called Discworld, a talking cat recruits a group of intelligent rats and a boy with a penny whistle to cash in on the Pied Piper legend. The rats “infest” a town, the concerned citizens hire the boy to pipe them away, and they split the proceeds with the cat. It’s a perfectly planned con job, and it runs flawlessly. Until the day they hit Bad Blintz—The Wrong Town at the Wrong Time—where they suddenly find themselves in a life-or-death struggle with an evil force they could never have planned for…When a classic fairy tale comes up against the satiric wit of one of the world’s most acclaimed fantasy writers, the result is hilarious and compelling. Masterfully crafted, this gripping read is certain to be a must-have for Terry Pratchett’s devoted fans while winning him new readers and a wider audience than ever!
