It's Banned Books Week

What do The Handmaid's Tale, The Hate U Give, and Captain Underpants have in common? They're all on the American Library Association's list of the Top 100 Most Banned and Challenged Books of the past decade.

 

This week is Banned Books Week and, now more than ever, it's vitally important to celebrate the freedom to read and highlight the value of free and open access to information. Censorship is a dead end.

 

We encourage readers young and old to crack open these "banned" books and have critical conversations about their contents and legacies.
